I am please with almost everything.
My only concerns are :
Modeling : - Legs (especially females) : low definition or something, but they do not look to have the same level of detail of the rest of the body. - Not enough skin variation tones. - Aging was more convincing before, it is way too smooth now. Hard to do an old gallentean for example, or at the contrary, a young amarrian or ni-kunni.
Usability : - The most annoying fact for me : the "slide" function to pick up your choices is not bad in itself, it even looks cool (i am speaking about the slider where you can grab the haircuts, facial hair, etc etc). But it has its limit and when you have already 10-15 objects inside it can get quite annoying to go from the 1st one to the last one, ESPECIALLY with the backgrounds in the portrait step (75 backgrounds or so, it is absolutely awesome, but it takes ages to go from the end to the first one manually).
Issue : I seem not to be able to see the smooth image background that everybody has in the creator, in fact I only have a black gradient (or maybe I am just getting crazy) :

Try to grab below the options and make a fast "swipe" (like with touch based mobile phones), you can quickly scroll from end to end. But it would be better if the options were continious i.e. get to end xxx option and the next is the first once again. There is of course the argument that when it stops you know that you have seen all the different options and not be wondering why the options seem to be similar than the ones before, but here the numbering helps once again.
As for the background are you running everything with high? (I haven't tried anything but high settings...)
I think I was all running in high settins, yes. It is by default when you install sisi anyway ? Can't remember but it looked far too smooth for a low detail options.
Well I tried to do as you suggested for the sliders, but the way it slides is all but smooth. I sometimes have to try several times to make it move, and generally it just goes up to 3 images next maximum.
It would be so much better to be able to enable an array/table mode : click on the haircuts for example, and choose to open a windows when you can pick the more easily.

I can only think you're trying to grab the icon itself, try and do the "swipe" just under the icons. I can pretty much each and every time scroll the whole background / lighting range with just one or two swipes. The flow smoothly from end to end... (I think I'm keeping to mouse button pressed the whole time, not sure, have to check when I get home).
I assure you I am doing the same. I am grabing the slide under or above the images, but it keeps doing that.
I am usually the last one to complain with the usability of the char creator and the tools released here as I am used to graphics and 3D modeling.

Edited by: Lyn Farel on 22/12/2010 22:32:25 With a little work, you can somewhat transcend the ethnic traits intended in the first place for the bloodline. The hair and the typical facial features (nose, lips...) are your friends.

Edited by: Lyn Farel on 23/12/2010 01:24:30 Now that makes me think there is obviously no reverse polygons at the collar of he clothes, for example, thus making them not visible "from the inside" (cf my last link, the collar is invisible on the back where we see the "inside").
The clothes extremities might need a "polygon lining" to make visible both sides. |

Given the fact that Gallente culture is a mish-mash of god knows how many races and ethnicities it'd be nice to see more options for them.
I'd agree this, but only if CCP makes them available to everyone. Sure, bright blue spiky-hair on an Amarrian wouldn't look congruent on a loyalist, but what about an Amarrian who's emigrated to Gallente space?
CCP, yet again, I ask, please give all clothing and styling choices to all races.
It is not the case at the moment ? :(

Ah, I did not pay attention to the clothes. I hope tere will be more choices we are quite limited at the moment.
And yes it could potentially get really annoying for me if I have to wear tribal clothes and stuff. No way. |

So no one bred outside the family, changed their hair, or had tattoos-PLEASE! DON'T DO THIS TO ME I BEG YOU!!!!!!!!
cant say there's no passion on this particular topic, eh?
for my part, i feel the same way, just in a slightly quieter, more composed manner...
free bloodline change? please? or... maybe... just a bloodline-free character generation? dunno how hard that would be, but a suggestion...
I was always possible. Sell your character, buy new one. You have to pay only a bit $ (or plex even soon) character transfer.
Roleplayers, selling chars ?
I would never do such a thing. It is not just a toon you sell, but a whole character and its history.
Not a solution. |

- pitch black BGs everywhere - missing button icons (but buttons are here though) - the next button to validate the portrait also does not work for me. - the eyes does not work on brutor female (maybe on all females, haven't tried).
